Morning Prayer (12 minutes)
Fr Luke’s Daily Bread
Our MORNING Prayers (12 minute version)
Blessed is our God, always now and forever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Glory to you, O God, glory to you.
O Heavenly King, the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth
who are present everywhere and fill all things,
the treasury of blessings and giver of life,
come and abide within us, cleanse of from all impurity
and save our souls, o Good one.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (3 times)
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit now and forever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
All Holy Trinity, have mercy on me.
Lord, forgive our sins. Master pardon our transgressions.
Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities for your name’s sake.
Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy.
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit Now and forever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come, Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom, and the power and the glory
Of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Having arisen from sleep we fall before You O blessed One and sing to You o Mighty One the angelic hymn: Holy, holy, holy are you O God, through the prayers of the Theotokos, haver mercy on us.
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
From our bed and sleep You have awakened us, open our lips that we may praise You, O Holy One: Holy, holy, holy, are You O God, through the prayers of all the saints have mercy on us.
Now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Suddenly the Judge will come and our deeps will be revealed. Therefore, with fear we cry out at the beginning of the day: Holy, holy, holy are You O God, through the prayer of the Theotokos, have mercy on us.
Glory to You, almighty God and King. By Your divine and loving care You have enabled me, a sinner, to rise from sleep and to enter Your holy presence. Accept, Lord the voice of my prayer as You accept the praises of the Holy and spiritual powers. Grant that with a pure heart and a humble spirit I may offer praise to You through my unclean lips. Thus I will become a companion of the wise virgins and being clothed with a radiant garment, I will glorify You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
We praise, bless, and thank You, Almighty God, the Father of light, that You have again shown to us the light of this day. We entreat You, forgive our sins and accept our prayers in Your great mercy, for we seek refuge in You, the merciful and almighty God. Shine in our hearts the light of Christ, the Sun of Righteousness. Enlighten our minds and whole beings that we may live according to Your commandments and serve You in all that we do and say. For You are the source of Life and Light, and to You we give praise and thanksgiving and glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and good will to all. (3 times)
Lord, open my lips and my mouth shall show forth your praise. (2 times)
Psalm 63
1 O God, You are my God, early do I seek you;
I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you,
as in a dry and parched land where there is no water.
2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.
3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
5 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
6 On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.
7 Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.
8 I cling to you; your right hand upholds me.
9 Those who want to kill me will be destroyed; they will go down to the depths of the earth.
10 They will be given over to the sword and become food for jackals.
11 But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God will glory in him,
while the mouths of liars will be silenced.
Psalm 103
1 Bless the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.
7 He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel:
8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.
15 The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children—
18 with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.
19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
and his kingdom rules over all.
20 Bless the Lord, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.
21 Bless the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
you his servants who do his will.
22 Bless the Lord, all his works
everywhere in his dominion. Bless the Lord, my soul.

THE MAGNIFICANT (The Virgin Mary’s Hymn to God)
To the Theotokos and the Mother of Light, let us sing hymns of praise:
My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoice in God my savior,
For He has regarded the lowly estate of His handmaiden.
Henceforth, all generation will call me blessed.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name.
His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.
For He has shown strength with his arm,
and he has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts,
He has put down the mighty from their thrones and exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich He has sent away empty.
He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy,
As He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and his posterity forever.
You are honored more than the cherubim,
And you have more glory when compared to the seraphim.
You, without corruption, gave birth to God the Logos,
You are the Theotokos, you do we magnify.
A DAILY PRAYER OF METROPOLITAN FILARET
Lord, grant me to greet this coming day in peace.
Help me in all things to rely upon Your holy will.
In every hour of the day, reveal Your will to me.
Bless my dealings with all who surround me.
Teach me to treat all that comes to me throughout this day
with peace of soul and with firm conviction that Your will governs all.
In all my deeds and words, guide my thoughts and feelings.
In unforeseen events, let me not forget that all things are under Your care.
Teach me to act firmly and wisely, without embittering and embarrassing others.
Give me the strength to bear the fatigue of the coming day with all that it shall bring.
Direct my will according to Your will.
Teach me to pray.
Pray Yourself within me.
Transform my life into a living prayer to you. Amen.
THE PRAYER OF FRANCIS OF ASSISI
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let be bring love.
Where there is sadness, let me bring joy.
Where there is despair, let me bring hope.
Where there is injury, let me bring healing and pardon.
Where there is doubt, let me bring faith.
Where there is darkness, let me bring light.
Yes Divine Master, help me not so much seek
To be consoled, as to console.
To be understood, as to understand.
To be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving, that we receive.
It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned.
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Through the prayers of our holy fathers and mothers,
Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on us and save us. Amen.
