OUR LENTEN MORNING PRAYERS
(8 minutes)

Blessed is our God, always now and forever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Glory to You, O God, glory to You.

O Heavenly King, the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth
who are present everywhere and fill all things,
the treasury of blessings and giver of life,
come and abide within us, cleanse of from all impurity
and save our souls, o Good one.

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (3 times)

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit
now and forever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

All Holy Trinity, have mercy on us.
Lord, forgive our sins. Master pardon our transgressions.
Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities for your name’s sake.

Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy.

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit
Now and forever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come, Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom, and the power and the glory
Of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

LENTEN HYMN

Let us joyfully journey through this all-hallowed season of abstinence and shine with the bright radiance of Your holy commandments, Christ our God. Give us the brightness of love and the splendor of prayer, a purity of holiness and the strength of good courage. Clothed in raiment of light, may we hasten to Your Holy Resurrection on the third day, that shines upon the world with the glory of eternal life.

Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace and good will among all.

Lord open my lips and my mouth will declare Your praise.

PSALM 63

O God, You are my God, early to I seek You.

My soul thirsts for You, my flesh faints for You
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

I looked for You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and glory

I will praise You as long as I live and lift up my hands to Your Name.

I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;

and with my mouth I will sing Your praises
On my bed I meditate upon you; and throughout the night watches I think of You
Because You are my help, and in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.

I cling to you; Your right hand upholds me.

O God, You are my God, early to I seek You.

THE PETITIONS

In peace, let us pray to the Lord.  (“Lord have mercy” after each petition)

For the peace from above, and the salvation of our souls, let us pray to the Lord.

For peace in the whole world, for the stability of the holy churches of God, and for the union of all, let us pray to the Lord.

For our Metropolitan Methodios all our bishops, priests, deacons, all missionaries who seek to spread your Gospel among all nations, and for all the clergy and people, let us pray to the Lord.

For our country, the president, those in public service, the armed forces, and all her people, let us pray to the Lord.

For our Saints Constantine and Helen Church Family (pray for our prayer partners, all the names on our Church’s prayer list), for this city and for every city, town and village throughout the world and all the faithful who live therein, let us pray to the Lord.

For our family and friends (pray for any of your friends, family, and others)), let us pray to the Lord

For favorable weather, and abundance of the fruits of the earth, and for peaceful times, let us pray to the Lord.

For all travelers, for the sick and suffering, for those who are dying, for captives and prisoners and for their salvation, let us pray to the Lord

For a perfect, holy, peaceful and sinless day, let us ask of the Lord.  (“Grant this O Lord” after each)

For an angel of peace, a faithful guide, and a guardian of our souls, let us ask of the Lord.

For the forgiveness and remission of our sins and transgressions, let us ask of the Lord.

For all that is good and beneficial to our souls, and for peace in the world let us ask of the Lord.

For the remaining time of our lives to be lived in peace and repentance, let us ask of the Lord.

For a Christian end to our lives, peaceful, without shame or suffering, and for a good account before the fearful judgment seat of Christ, let us ask of the Lord.

Remembering the most holy mother of God, with all the saints, let us commit ourselves, and one another, and our entire lives to Christ our God. (“To You O Lord.”)

For You who are a merciful and loving God, and to You belong all glory, honor, and worship, Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, Have Mercy on Me a Sinner. (3 times with prostrations)

A LENTEN PRAYER

Almighty God, who made all creation in wisdom and by your inexpressible providence and goodness has brought us to these holy days for the purification of body and soul, for the controlling of bodily passions, for the hope of the Resurrection, who during the forty days gave the Covenant into the hands of Moses in characters divinely traced by You; Enable us also, O Holy One, to fight the good fight, to complete the course of the fast, to preserve in wholeness the faith; to crush under our feet the heads of invisible demons; to be counted as a victor over sin; and so uncondemned to attain to Your Holy Resurrection. For all honor and glory are given to Your noble and worthy name, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

PRAYER OF SAINT FILARET

Lord, grant me to greet this coming day in peace.
Help me in all things to rely upon Your holy will.
In every hour of the day, reveal Your will to me.
Bless my dealings with all who surround me.
Teach me to treat all that comes to me throughout this day
with peace of soul and with firm conviction that Your will governs all.
In all my deeds and words, guide my thoughts and feelings.
In unforeseen events, let me not forget that all things are under Your care.
Teach me to act firmly and wisely, without embittering and embarrassing others.
Give me the strength to bear the fatigue of the coming day with all that it shall bring.
Direct my will according to Your will.
Teach me to pray.
Pray Yourself within me.
Transform my life into a living prayer to you. Amen.

LORD OF THE POWERS

Lord of the Powers be with us
For in times of distress we have no other help but You
Lord of the Powers have mercy on us.

God is with us be it known all you nations be humbled, for God is with us.

O CHAMPION GENERAL

O Champion General, I your servant now inscribe to You
Triumphant anthems as the tokens of my gratitude
Being rescued from the terrors O Theotokos,
In as much as You have power unassailable
From all kind terrors free us so that unto You
I may cry aloud, “Rejoice O Unwedded Bride.”

THE PRAYER OF ST. EPHRAIM THE SYRIAN

Lord and Master of my life,
take from me the spirit of
laziness, idle curiosity, lust for power and vain talk. (make a prostration)

But give to me instead the spirit of
purity, humility, patience and love. (make a prostration)

Yes Lord and King help me to see my own faults,
and keep me from judging what others do.
For you are blessed unto the ages of ages. Amen. (make a prostration)

Through the prayers of our holy fathers and mothers, Lord Jesus Christ our God have mercy on us and save us. Amen.
